It wasn’t enough of Arrested Development to mirror the recent political landscape; they had to include an actual wall on the Mexican border. Now, star Jeffrey Tambor says Season 5 will continue the eerily-prescient idea from Season 4, making the series more topical than ever.

The newest Above Average interview with Arrested Development star Jeffrey Tambor (h/t AV Club) touched a bit on the fifth season, itself set to shoot this summer for a 2018 debut. Tambor acknowledged that “We’ll probably be doing some wall stuff,” alluding to the Season 4 plot that saw George Bluth faking construction of a Mexican border wall, which Lindsay later picked up as a political ambition.

Back in early 2016, creator Mitch Hurwitz hoped to get Arrested Development Season 5 rolling before the November elections, so as to capitalize on the topicality of Trump’s ridiculous campaign, as well as then-cultural phenomenons like Making a Murderer. Hurwitz even told Deadline that prior drafts had George demanding Mexico pay for the wall, so it remains to be seen how much of Season 5 has since changed to make the wall less on-the-nose.

Elsewhere of Arrested Development Season 5, the full cast of Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and Alia Shawkat will return, spending “much more” time together at that. Hurwitz previously projected an early 2017 start to production, though we’ve heard no update on reports of a prequel format (to minimize cast commitment).

We’ll likely learn more as shooting picks up over the summer, so stay tuned.
