Okay, everyone knows I’m a HUGE football fan.  We won’t discuss favorite NFL teams because I’m sure living in Patriots country I’ll get stoned on the way out of the studio.  I always said that if there was a football program when I was in school I definitely would have tried out.  What you may or may not know is that there is a growing program right here in our area.

Aroostook Football is having an informational/recruiting meeting on Wednesday, May 22nd at 7PM in Folsom Hall, Room 105 at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.  Any middle or high school student in S.A.D. #1 that’s interested in playing in the league should attend.  They’ll also be kicking off an official “Booster” group for Aroostook Football which will help the program continue to grow.

With that effort in mind, there will also be an evening of entertainment on Saturday, May 25th at 7PM in the Weiden Auditorium at UMPI.  Miss Maine, Molly Bouchard, will be on hand and so will Miss Presque Isle, Hannah Patterson.  Contestants from the Northern Star competition will also be performing, among many others.  It’ll be a great night of entertainment to benefit Aroostook Football.  More events are coming up in the weeks and months ahead.  Go to their website for the details.
