NAC Man of the Year and Woman of the Year awards honor graduating student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership.

The winners will be announced in late July, and will be honored on their campuses during the upcoming academic year.

Victoria McIntyre, a Presque native who spent her high school years in Mars Hill, graduated from Husson University this spring after an impressive four years, athletically and academically.

With the Husson Eagles, she capped off her career with the 2016 NAC Women's Basketball Championship Title and was named the 2016 NAC Player of the Year.

This past season, she led her team to an overall record of 21-7 and a near-perfect 17-1 mark in NAC play, while earning an appearance in the national tournament.

The Eagles had previously made the quarterfinal round in 2013 and the semifinal round in both 2014 and 2015.

This season, she ranked in the top-six in the NAC in made three-point field goals (second, 37), points per game (fourth, 13.7), rebounds per game (sixth, 7.8), and defensive rebounds per game (sixth, 5.4).

She also finished the regular season tied for seventh in assists per game (2.7), ninth in three-point percentage (36.6%), and tenth in free-throws made (42-64).

Earlier this season, McIntyre earned a spot in Husson program history as she surpassed 1,000 points.

She was selected to the NABC DIII All-Northeast District Team, as a NAC All-Conference first teamer, to the NAC All-Tournament Team, and is a two-time Eagle Award Winner.

In high school in northern Maine, McIntyre played all four years of varsity basketball at MSAD 42 in Mars Hill, passing the 1,000 point mark in her junior year.

In the classroom, Victoria McIntyre earned her Husson University undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and is now pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
