Police Search For Suspect in Armed Robbery in Houlton [UPDATE]

Police in southern Aroostook County are tracking a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery Friday afternoon in downtown Houlton.  

The Thirsty Dawg on Florence Avenue was reported to have been robbed at gunpoint around 1 p.m. Friday.

Houlton Police say a man wearing a camouflage jacket, black pants, a black ski mask and black gloves walked into the business, presented a weapon and demanded money. The robber then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash onto Grove Street.

The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office was assisting Houlton Police in the search Friday for a male suspect, around 6 feet tall, with slim to medium build.  A Maine State Police canine unit was also employed in the search. Police believe the suspect may have got into a vehicle in the Bangor Street area.
