Are Sox Back In The Race? [VIDEO]

The Boston Red Sox scored seven times in the first inning and were on their way to a 12-6 win over the Toronto Blue Jays Thursday night.

David Ortiz and Hanley Ramirez hit back-to-back home runs in that first inning.

But it was the top of the order, Mookie Betts-Brock Holt-Xander Bogaerts who set the table all night. They were a combined 11-for-18 against Jays pitching. Near the bottom of the lineup Alejandro De Aza had three hits and four RBI. All part of a 19 hit attack.

Wade Miley struggled through five innings, long enough to get credit for the win. He gave up seven hits and seven walks in those five innings.

The Sox take three wins out of the four games in Toronto and now come back to Fenway for a weekend series with the Houston Astros.

Boston is 37-44 and now six games out of first place in the AL East.
