Legendary thrashers Anthrax have enjoyed quite the year with the release of their 11th studio effort, For All Kings. The record has been hailed by many as one of their best and the group has toured heavily in support of the record and just unleashed another music video. Their latest clip is for "Monster at the End."

While the video for "Blood Eagle Wings" was dark and cinematic, Anthrax took a different approach here, applying comic book style moments to their performance. The stop motion video begins with choppy cuts (taken from a pool of still images) of the band playing in a warehouse, but gradually increases as slapstick effects like "Crashhhh!" appear when Charlie Benante strikes his cymbals. Skulls and frightening faces flash over the members' faces as comic strips divide up the action.

The second half of the video is the most eye-catching portion as more panels and pages flip by along with more shots of the band becoming monsters between flashes of light. Slowly, a horned figure with claw-like fingers begins to manifest in the members and between plumes of smoke. At the end, fans are treated to a full shot of this otherwise visually elusive creature.

Speaking about the video, Benante commented, "The 'Monster at the End' video takes us back to our love of comics and horror. We've always loved the Creepshow movies and wanted something like that for this video. Jack [Bennett, director] is easy to work with, all we did was perform the song, he did the real work with the editing and achieving the look that we wanted."

Anthrax also performed "Monster at the End" on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Wednesday (Aug. 23) in front of a live studio audience. The band also got the opportunity to meet legendary actor Robert De Niro, who was another guest that night on the talk show.

The band will be back out on tour in September, providing support on Slayer's headlining run, rounded out by Bay Area legends Death Angel. See if the trek is coming to a city near you at our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
