Aid for Kids is hosting a Children's Educational Fair at the John Millar Arena in Houlton on Saturday, September 12th that is packed full of fun activities.

The fair runs from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. and features the Frogtown Mountain Puppets, Bess the Book Bus, interactive displays, educational demonstrations, a bike rodeo, games, crafts, prizes and much more.

Here is the expanded look at all the activities you can enjoy with your children:

Frogtown Mountain Puppets - a family puppetry troupe from Bar Harbor that performs hundreds of shows a year across the country. Shows at 12 noon and 2 p.m.   A must see for all ages!

Bess the Book Bus - Traveling literacy van providing free books to children of all ages.

Cynthia Lord - Award-winning children's author will be be on hand to sign her books.  A limited number of books will be available at the event.

Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic -  Wooden crafts that kids can assemble with the help of Lowe's employees.

Mrs. Melvin - Learn the ABC's of worm composting, a convenient way to dispose of organic waste. Compost is a great way to feed and nurture plants, help our environment and reduce waste.

Katahdin Valley Health Center -  diabetes screening, pain management

Aroostook Medical Center -  blood pressure screening, hand washing education, WOW wagon

Maine Department of Public Safety - texting simulator- teaches dangers of texting/driving

Maine Department of Public Safety-  The Seat Belt Convincer-allows riders to experience the surprising amount of force in a low speed crash.

American Red Cross- Fire Alarm safety information they also will have their emergency response vehicle so you get an idea of how the Red Cross might respond to an emergency

Malcolm Science Center will offer hands-on science fun.

Bangor Savings Bank allows you to open a new children’s savings account and will make the first deposit.

Cary Library will host a children’s craft table.

Power of Prevention - bicycle rodeo. Please bring bike and helmet, if possible- prizes awarded.

A.C.A.P. - substance abuse prevention, health effects of tobacco, dental care, stringed backpacks, Frisbees.

Aid for Kids will also offer a free barbecue, a bounce house and drawings for fire alarms and for two bicycles.
