It was 30 years ago that Matthew Broderick hit the big screen and was a high school student hell bent on successfully skipping a day in 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off.'  The movie that inspired one of my favorite shows when I was growing up, Parker Lewis Can't Lose by the way. The movie was written in about one week and filmed in only 3 months.

Still, it was one of the top money making movies of 1986 bringing in over $70 million dollars worldwide. But the film never had an official soundtrack. Can you believe it? The film that had tunes like "Oh Yeah" by Yello, and more.

On September 13th the flick will finally have one. La-La Land Records will release only 5,000 copies including the original score by Ira Newborn as well as some bonus tracks. Maybe even the marching band version of “Twist and Shout?”  Anyone?...Anyone?  We can only hope! You can pre-order the soundtrack here!
