While summer temperatures may not be falling, gas prices around New England have fallen a bit.

The average retail price in Maine, according to GasBuddy.com, declined a penny-and-a-half from last week to an average $2.82 a gallon. Prices at most gas outlets in Presque Isle were $2.93 a gallon as of Monday morning.

New Hampshire's pump prices fell 1.4 cents a gallon to $2.79 for the average. Next door in Vermont, gas decreased nearly a penny over the past week to an average $2,88 a gallon.

Gasoline on the national level came in this week at $2.82 a gallon. That's a drop of 1.6 cents in the past month, while 55.4 cents higher than a year ago at this time.
