The miniseries or movie category makes things tougher to sort out each year, but the Outstanding Lead Actress award at the 2016 Emmy Awards was definitely Sarah Paulson's to lose. So it is, that the People v. O.J. Simpson star took home the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie award at the 2016 Emmy Awards.

Following her sixth nomination (including one for Hotel tonight on the supporting side), Paulson followed her co-star Sterling K. Brown with an Emmy win. Paul spoke about getting to know the real Marcia Clark (who accompanied her to the ceremony), extolling her virtue, admitting to having superficially judged her in the past.

Nominees for the award included Lili Taylor of ABC's American Crime, Felicity Huffman of ABC's American Crime, Kerry Washington of HBO's Confirmation, Kirsten Dunst of FX's Fargo and Audra McDonald of HBO's Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill. Last year, Frances McDormand took home the award for Olive Kitteridge.

Well, did Sarah Paulson deserve the win? Who got snubbed the hardest? Be sure to check out our master list of tonight’s winners, and stay tuned for more from the 2016 Emmy Awards!
