It's back once again! A great race for an even greater cause! It's the 3rd Annual Miracle Mile Race for Research happening soon in Houlton.

The race is set up to raise funds and awareness to aid in the research for curing Neuroblastoma and Diamond Blackfan Anemia. The families of the late Makenna Ward and Maggie Rudnicki, who is currently dealing with Diamond Blackfan Anemia, are teaming up to once again host the Miracle Mile: Makenna and Maggie’s Race for Research. And you’re invited to lace up your sneakers and hit the pavement on Friday, July 3rd in downtown Houlton!

I had a chance to speak with Race Director, Chris Rines and Kenna's father, Kirk Ward, about this year’s event. Have a listen to what they had to say!

The race is once again during Houlton’s Midnight Madness Celebration on Friday, July 3rd, 2015. Registration is from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with the race starting at 6 p.m., beginning at Military Street Baptist Church and ending in Market Square. This is really something to see if you're out checking out the festivities anyway. The awards will be immediately following the race at the Elk's Club again this year.

You’re encouraged to register online in advance of the race. Cost is $15 per person, whether you walk or run the 1-mile course.
