2015 Canada Post Rate Increases
It could soon cost you more money to send mail in Canada.
Beginning January 11th, Canada Post would like to raise the postage rate for domestic letter mail weighing 30 grams or less.
Currently is will cost you 85 cents. Canada Post would like to increase that to 90 cents when purchased in batches. The price of a single stamp would remain at $1.
The rates would take effect in January 2016 if they are approved.
Canada Post says a continued decline in letter mail volume over the past decade has had a "significant impact" on their financial situation.
The agency is also seeking to raise rates for other domestic letter mail, U.S. and international letter items as well as domestic registered mail.
