Time to dig out that canoe or kayak, dust off that bike, or lace up those running shoes and prepare for the 2014 Aroostook River Fun Run.

Here's some footage I snagged at a past river fun run.

The Presque Isle and Washburn Rotary Clubs are encouraging the public to get out and enjoy some exercise, pleasant scenery and to help a local charity again this year. Net proceeds from this year's fun run will benefit area Girl Scouts.

Sign up for the 8-mile race from Washburn’s Thomas Brewer Park to Presque Isle Fish and Game Club is on Saturday, May 17th. If you plan on attending you'll need to register from 8-9:30am, the race begins at 10:00am.

Entry fee is $10 per paddler in advance, $15 on race day or $25 per family in advance or $30 on race day. You have the choice of either paddling, biking or running along the river on the railed trail nearby.

You can snag a registration form in the Star-Herald or online at pirotaryclub.org.

If you plan on going you could score a kayak, awards or prizes. Free t-shirts will be available to the first 75 participants and lunch for all who join in.
