The young man was driving on L. Allain Road at approximately 10:45 p.m. when he  lost control of the car, according to Sgt. Marc Beaupré of the Northeast District RCMP.   The driver, who was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over several times. He was taken to the hospital and later died from his injuries.

A 16-year-old boy who was a passenger in the car was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police say speed is believed to have been a factor in the fatal crash. The investigation is continuing with the help of an RCMP collision reconstructionist.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
